Have you ever wondered how Ebay makes money? Well essentially, they are just matchmaking. Ebay connects the boys and the girls, or more specifically, the buyers and the sellers.

Have you ever wondered how Ebay makes money? Well essentially, they are just matchmaking. Ebay connects the boys and the girls, or more specifically, the buyers and the sellers.

But why would the founder of Capchure be writing about Ebay? Well, I thought that I would point out how Capchure helps publishers become matchmakers with a business model. Historically, bloggers have been writing incredible content regarding the products and services that they like. Unfortunately, the only business model that existed were display advertisements in the sidebar representing one or two key phrases used in the content of the blog. Although this was somewhat relevant, it is tough for readers to connect the advertisement with words placed somewhere in the middle of the article. I would not call advertising up to this point an Ebay-like model.

So how do we take a blog and turn it into a matchmaking model? The answer is in two words: Relevance and Qualification. For Ebay, the relevance and qualification lies in the navigation of the site. People use either a search functionality or go through several links of categories and sub-categories to find the product that they want. Because Ebay has such a huge list of product categories and an easy to use navigation, people find what they are looking for. At the same time, people go to Ebay to buy things and they look for items on the portal because they have a certain degree of willingness to buy the product. With this kind of model, you would think that Ebay is like a store, right? Wrong, Ebay does not carry a single item in inventory. Ebay sells leads to sellers. Sellers give Ebay a percentage cost of the item in exchange for the closed sale to the lead generated.

So again, how does this scenario relate to Capchure? Well, Ebay is a search engine, but not the same size as the search engine that holds blog posts. The search engine that indexes posts is called Google. When people are looking up a product that you wrote about in Google, it is no different from people looking up products in Ebay. Actually, it is easier to look up a product in Google than in Ebay both in terms of labor and time. So let’s just say that somebody looks up tiki torches in Google, and your article shows up first in the search engine listing. There is a high chance at this point that the Googler is going to click on your blog post, because it is high up in the search engines. Right now, there is a good chance that they will read your post and say to themselves “that was cool,” and then go to Ebay to look for Tiki Torches and pay them their “matchmaking” fee. So let’s rewind for just a moment…. You conveyed the value proposition of the product to the customer, but they bought the product from Ebay. So you sold the customer, but Ebay was paid for the sale of the product. And actually, you may have been doing this for several years. And the only thing that Ebay really did was connect the buyer with a seller. Capchure technically allows bloggers to do this through our service. We offer publishers the ability to show relevant hover over adforms over keyphrases representing advertiser products and services. Now you know how to be like Ebay… So go ahead and sign up already here.

Aaron Moskowitz mentions a neat company that offers super cheap reverse email look up services.

Just when I though that I knew everything about email marketing, I came across an incredible find recently. It is actually a service, but I’m sure that there are many of them out there. The company is called Email Finder, and they offer a service to conduct reverse email lookups with just an email address. The service only costs about 1.95 per month and opens up many doors for Capchure users. Just imagine, you have accumulated thousands of email addresses using Capchure and our affiliates, and now you have their names. Your email campaigns and social media invites are sooooooooooo much stronger with the names in addition. So what are you waiting for, you have alot of marketing to do right now

Over the last three weeks, Capchure has developed into a well tested system and we are so thankful for all of the beta testers that have shown support for us.

Over the last three weeks, Capchure has developed into a well tested system and we are so thankful for all of the beta testers that have shown support for us. Currently, the system is capable of being placed in publications and capturing leads. The leads are delivered to the email inbox of the advertiser with the email address within the reply to box. This is a great way for advertisers to combine inboxes with autoresponders to quickly follow up with the prospect.

Recently, we have also been approached by many groups offering to partner or invest in our company as well to help take our platform to an even further level. From the beginning, we had no idea how quickly this would attract attention from anybody. We are very thankful for the support from all.

Another happening that we would like to bring to everybody’s attention is a near-term project to create a publisher directory for CPA that allows advertisers to choose the exact publications they would like to advertise on. Many networks do not allow this kind of customization of advertiser campaigns. We thought that this would create more transparency and control for advertisers (hence more value).

More info will be hitting the streets soon regarding our aggressive push to build Capchure into a market leader. Please stay tuned.

I had no idea that I could possibly support so much support for Capchure this quickly. There is so much that I have to say, but I will just mention a few key things going on this week for the company. First of all, I would like to thank the 25 people that have stepped up to the plate as beta test volunteers this month. I will touch base with you all as soon as I have a date set for the test. Currently, we plan on finishing a critical piece of the system by next week. So be prepared my friends to be testing soon.

Secondly, I will be at CES tomorrow January 8th to meet with potential advertisers and publishers. If you will be there as well, please let me know so that we can meet up.

Thirdly, we are in the process of building a social network for developers, advertisers, and publishers to connect and learn from each other how to optimize their Capchure experience.

Fourth of all, I will be at the Docstoc event later this month in Santa Monica for those that are looking to expand their tech network and meet rainmakers and potential partners, employees, employers, cool people.

Every minute something incredible is happening for Capchure. Thank you so much for supporting the cause. I guarantee that you will feel the reward for your efforts through the benefits of being part of the evolution of online marketing.

Ok, I know that we have been putting out the word a ‘lil bit about our network and most of you are still scratching your heads wondering what this is all about. I am so excited to announce that you will see the Capchure network in action by the end of January. We have officially completed initial development and now we are in the testing phase of the software rollout. We will be opening up the system to 25 Beta testers during the last week of January. There will be a minimum credit requirement for advertisers to join. Publishers should be listed on Compete.com, so that we can verify certain traffic requirements. don’t be intimidated by our requirements, because we will make case-by-case exceptions.
